Paediatric Therapy Program |
Paediatric therapies are the physical therapies. Our paediatric therapy program can be broken down into three types: physiotherapy, occupational therapy and sensory integration therapy. |
What is paediatric therapy? |
What is physiotherapy? |
What is occupational therapy? |
What is sensory integration therapy? |
A paediatric therapist will meet with you and your child to assess and work on specific areas that need improvement. The therapist will also provide activities and suggestions for practice at home and in other settings. |
What does a paediatric therapist do? |
After a referral is received by one of the therapists, an assessment time will be booked. After the assessment is completed, the therapist will decide whether your child should begin receiving treatment or not. Treatment is generally scheduled for an hour weekly for a block of time. |
What steps are involved in therapy? |
Parents are encouraged to take part in therapy sessions in whatever role they are comfortable with. Therapy sessions only provide an introduction to skills to be worked on and practiced at home and in daycare or school. It’s your responsibility to follow through with and practice home activities that are recommended by the therapist. |
