Careers with NCDC

In the News

All of the NCDC workers involved with you and your child share information regularly.  It is important for your child’s doctor, school, child care provider, etc. to know how your child is doing.  Your worker will visit your child’s Kindergarten classroom regularly.  All other people involved will receive information regularly.  The Service Coordinator may arrange a meeting between all people involved, if needed.

You and your family are primarily responsible for your child’s developmental success.  You play an active role in helping your child learn.  Your worker is there to give you advise, ideas, support and guidance.

The worker visits you in your home to talk about the goals of your Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP).  The worker will suggest fun and educational activities that can be easily worked into daily routines and involve other siblings.  At each visit, the worker and you will talk about the progress your child is making.  You will review the goals on your IFSP to see if changes or new activities are needed.
