Your Infant and Child Development Worker helps the child care facility to implement some of the goals and objectives outlined in your Individual Family Service Plan.  She can give activity suggestions, resource materials and staff education material.  She can also share information from other therapists with the child care staff and help them include program recommendations in child care.  She also helps child care facilities access funds for additional staff when needed, to support a child with exceptional needs.

Through Early Learning & Community Child Care, our Infant and Child Development Workers provide support and assistance to child care facilities in adapting their programs to meet the needs of all children.

What is Early Learning & Community Child Care?

How is your Infant and Child Development Worker involved?

Northumberland

Child Development Centre

Your Infant and Child Development Worker will give you a letter and a consent form to sign. This will allow us to visit your child at the child care centre. Once the consents are signed to share information, the visits with the child care facility will begin.

What steps are involved?

It is your responsibility to let your Infant and Child Development Worker know if your child starts or stops going to child care. It is also very helpful to let the child care facility know that your child has special needs, and tell them about the services she/he is receiving. It is also important that you communicate regularly with child care providers so you are up-to-date on how things are going.
